We meet every Tuesday 11.30 am at Antonieths Cafe & Wine Bar.
The idea is to bring people together who share a common interest in learning to Speak Cebuano.
You can practice with others and share knowledge and experiences related to Cebuano

WHY ITS DIFFICULT TO LEARN CEBUANO FROM A CEBUANO

Cebuano is more of a spoken language but does have fixed grammatical rules that can be learnt.
Native Cebuano speakers are able to speak the language fluently but very few understand its structure.
They know when something is wrong but can not explain it when you ask them.

THE EXPERIENCE OF MANY TRYING TO LEARN CEBUANO

A Filipino does not like to be put into a position of not knowing something - especially his own language.
Therefore he will give you an incorrect answer rather than admit he does not know.
More than likely he will simply not try to correct you at all.

So you will end up learning a pigeon “Me Tarzan - You Jane” type of Cebuano.
and chances are you will still not understnad most of what is being said.
