Belly dancing school & Ball Room Lessons in Lapu Lapu - Cebu
Soft Opening held on the 3rd of January 2007
SOFT OPENING OF BELLY DANCE SCHOOL JANUARY 2007
In late December we advertised for instructors in the Sun Star and surprisingly received many inquiries from people wanting to enroll in one of the classes.
The banner outside the shop announcing the studio will be Opening Soon has also generated a number of similar inquiries.
There is still a lot to do in the restaurant but the Dance Studio upstairs is basically finished.
We had more than enough for a class so we decided to have a soft opening of our dance studio, specifically for Belly Dancing on the 3rd of January.
The new Belly Dancing Students arrive and are all given a Hip-Scarf to wear.
As you can see it was a full class and even more surprising is that everyone enrolled at the completion of this FREE introductory class.
We have not even started our promotion for the studio yet! The cost for Belly dancing is 1000 Pesos for 8 sessions with two classes per week which is approximately one month.
We invited some of our other instructors down for this soft opening including one of our Ball Room instructors and he did an impromptu Ball Room dancing class when the Belly Dancing was finished.
We did not invite any of the people that had inquired about Ball Room but there was plenty of interest from the Belly Dancing students. One enrolled in both Belly dancing and ball room dancing.
Down Stairs we prepare some refreshments for the students in our unfinished kitchen.
The refrigerator was turned on today for the first time as was the air-conditioning unit. The Oven has yet to be connected.
Today we placed an add for a cook and waitresses. The official opening is on the 15th so we don’t have a lot of time.
The tables you see were delivered an hour before we started and were given their first coat of varnish this morning. The chairs are not finished yet so we borrowed some from the shop next door.
As we sat their talking a Korean family walked in and sat down. They assumed the restaurant was open. We immediately handed them plates and cups and invited them to partake in the free food. They were obviously embarrassed and despite and strongest encouragement to stay decided to leave. This was a very encouraging start to the new Dance & Fitness Studio and for the restaurant which we have yet to name.
